Weekend Excursions

Nate and I decided to check out the local cuisine at the new restaurant called Fogo de Chao. I'll sum it up as the new Brazilian Churrascaria in Inner Harbor (just like Rodigio's at home but way nice). Katelyn loved everything about it, the food, the service (Nate conversing in Portugeuse), and the entertainment (large pictures of Brasilian Gauchos).

Here is a sneak peak at Katelyn's walking excursions. She loves to push her walker and is immediate to point out if something is blocking her path. She is dancing to her own tune as she pushes along.

Our new word this week is "nose". Katelyn is showing me where my nose is. At least she doesn't try to stuff it in her mouth the way she does when we point to Mickey's nose.

Here Katelyn is showing us just how hungry she is. Poor Kitty.

Sending out an SOS

I put Katelyn down for her nap as usual when I hear this soft tap tap against the wall. It wasn't loud enough to be her banging anything from the crib, so I decided to investigate.
Lucky for me I had the camera ready. Katelyn had taken out her hair clippy and was using it to send a Morse code message. "Rescue me from nap time." So smart!

Lucky Three's

Well happy days are coming. . . I should be heading out of my first trimester this week. Thanks to a healthy dose of Zofran Katelyn has sort of had a mom these past few months. We are hoping and praying that the nausea will leave with the first three months. I think Nate will be happy to have regular meals again too (don't let him fool you, he can whip up some great meals with the quickness).

The couch time has done me some good on the reading end of things. I just finished the third installment of Stephenie Meyer's books, Eclipse. If you haven't caught the Twilight fever I highly recommend it. A great void has been filled in my mourning the Harry Potter series.

And the final third. . .Katelyn took three steps toward me today! Hooray!

Katelyn Standing

This last weekend has been a proud moment for Katelyn. She mastered standing and pushing the walker in two days. She has been refusing contact with the walker for several weeks and just decided that this weekend it could be her friend. She then did a victory lap around the track at New Town High School. Way to go Katelyn!
